Book Club Brunch – Chapter 25

Book Club Brunch – Chapter 25

Hello from the otherside…

Of 30!

I’ve officially crossed into can-no-longer-pretend-you-aren’t-an-adult land. It’s a challenge to admint that my 20s are behind me for good, but I’m happy to be entering what feels like a new stage in my life.

And what better way to kick off my 30s that with some Shakespeare?

Or at least a Shakespearean adaptation. I’m really excited to read Hag-Seed for our December book club pick! It’s been billed as such a fantastic read, and I think it’ll be very interesting to discuss.

The only real question is – who’s up for reading The Tempest at the same time?

Hello fellow book lovers, It's still smoky over here in the Pacific Northwest! I got to attend Rose City Comic Con last weekend, which was a total blast, and my friends cosplayed as Thor, the family from Bob's Burgers, and Howl and Sophie! So great! There are too many...

Book Review | Rascal Farms, by Anderson Atlas

Anyone else love to eat? Yes?? I will admit I spend a lot of time thinking about food and what I want to eat or make. This meant I totally understood Mr. Raccoon wanting to mix up his diet with some better quality food in Anderson Atlas’s book Rascal...

  1. Aj @ Read All The Things!

Happy birthday! I’m also looking forward to reading Hag-Seed. I’ve heard it’s really good.

  2. Sandy @ Somewhere Only

Yes Emily was probably one of the best things about Gilmore Girls AYITL. I turned 30 this year too! It surprisingly didn’t hit me that hard. That probably means 40 will be awful. Happy birthday! Have a great week!

Thanks Sandy! I was talking to a friend last week after a 5k we ran, saying that she was never going to hit a personal best again (she was an athlete in high school), and it got me thinking that we should think of each decade as it’s own little life. Why not shoot for the “personal best” of your 30s? That idea gave me a new perspective!
