This month has been so much fun! For once, I feel like the month hasn’t flown by, but just lasted the perfect amount of time. It was such a blissful happy month.

Highlight of the month was definitely celebrating Austyn‘s husband’s birthday in Las Vegas! Austyn and I have been besties for north of 15 years now, and living on opposite sides of the country we rarely get to see each other. It was so nice to be in the same room. And day drinking. Because VEGAS!

I cannot wait for the excitement of July! On-boarding more contributors for Imaginary Book Club, selling more and more furniture on craigslist, and packing up to move to Arlington Virginia!

Here’s a quick wrap up of some of my favorite posts from the last month for a re-read:

I also have a favorite pic from our Instagram account this month! I bet you can guess why.

And now, time for some non-book goodies I’ve been loving this month!

1. Sterelite Containers

OMG SO EXCITING!! Just kidding, I know this is a horribly lame way to start things off, but yeah. I’m gearing up for a move, and, after moving more than 10 times in the past 10 years, I am good at moving. Step one is getting rid of almost half of the things that have accumulated in the house, and step two is reorganizing. I haven’t picked up a ton of these plastic containers, but I did pick up a few new ones in smaller sizes to corral some of the little things around the house (stationary, cords, gift bows and packages, etc). They are an absolute essential.

2. Little Photo Albums

I picked up two of these little photo albums earlier this year, and it made my life a lot more polished in just about two seconds. I had this janky old photo album that had a completely disorganized collection of random prints from the last 20 years or so. Instead of holding on to that business, I pulled out all the prints I wanted, organized them into a few of these little albums, and now I have three little collections – one album with our wedding photos, one with family photos from our childhoods, and one that is essentially a brag book featuring my nieces and nephew.

3. Surface Pro 4

SWOON! This is such an upgrade. I’ve been working from home for about a year and a half now, using my super clunky five-year old Lenovo and it has been a pain every step of the way. I just signed on a new client, and congratulated myself with a major upgrade to the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. It’s like a tablet that you can use like a regular laptop. I’m super impressed by how well it handles Adobe Illustrator, and everything I could possibly want. I cannot get over actually being able to take my laptop off the charger for more than 30 minutes. Needed upgrade!

4. GlamGlow ThirstyMud Mask

Falling in the category of unnecessary, but amazing things, I’ve become a big fan of this face mask. I think I’ve finally admitted to myself that my skin is super dehydrated, and that I should stop using the same products I used as a teenager and treat it with a little bit more care. I loved the sample of this I used earlier this year, and completely loved it, so I picked this up when the brand was on HauteLook earlier this month (yay discount websites!). Still love it. Still dehydrated.

5. Magnum Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar

Okay, so these are kind of a recurring favorite, but it’s summer! It is hot hot hot now in Maryland, so any survival method for tolerating the heat and humidity is acceptable in my book. If that means going on a long walk and topping it off with an ice cream, whatever, do it. These are an absolute favorite. They are a little pricey for what they are, but it makes it feel like every ice cream is a bit of a special treat. SO DELICIOUS.

That’s everything I’ve been loving!

June has been fantastic, and I’m really looking forward to next month.

What have y’all been enjoying this month?

  1. This month I got my iRobot Roomba 880 and I love it!! I have it set to vacuum three times a week, more than I have ever vacuumed in my life, and my floors are so dog hair free!!

    Best birthday gift ever!!

    • That sounds like absolute bliss. Vacuuming is my least favorite thing

  2. Oh my gosh – congrats on the Surface Pro 4! I use a 13 inch convertable laptop – and love the protability. I don’t think I can go back to a bigger screen every again.
